Description

Join me at Glenouther Farm in Scotland for a special midsummer Spirit Lodge Ceremony!

Experience the benefits of this ancient ceremony of purification, prayer and song, and leave this day with an expanded inner space, an amazing sense of connectedness and completeness and a body that's been purified of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual toxins.

Midsummer is the time of the year when the sun's influence in our lives and on the planet is at its fullest. It's the longest day, nature is at its full blossom and life force has incarnated completely. It's a time of celebration and giving thanks to Spirit for all the gifts in our lifes and nature's abundance that feeds and nourishes us. From this day onward in the yearly cycle, life force will start to move slowly inward again and eventually concentrate itself in the seeds that will be harvested at the end of the summer. It is the most potent time of the year and traditionally whole communities would gather by the light of bonfires to celebrate life.

The ceremony on this day is one of giving thanks by cleansing, singing and praying together as a sort of mini tribe. Depending on the circumstances we may have the opportunity to build the actual lodge structure together in the morning and continue into the sweat directly following.

I'm looking very much forward to sharing this special time with you!

Until then,

Maarten

Where?
Near Stewarton, about 30 min. south-west of Glasgow, at the beautiful Glenouther Farm. You can find it on Google maps through THIS LINK.

What time?
We start at 10am and finish approximately at 8pm.

What do I contribute?
It's a 40 pound (€45 in the payment portal) contribution and everybody also brings something for the celebratory meal that we share together afterwards.

What should I bring?
The sweat itself is clothing optional, which means you can enter the lodge as you were born (naked) or, if you prefer, you can wear some light clothing like a bathing suit, shirt and boxers or sarong. Just bring whatever clothing you are comfortable to sweat in (if any) and also wear comfortable and outdoorsy (warm) clothing for the rest of the day because we might get dirty building the fire and possibly the lodge itself. Bring a couple of towels: at least one for inside the lodge (that will get dirty) and one to use after rinsing off. Here's a little list of what to bring:

- (warm and) comfortable, outdoorsy clothing
- bathing suit, shirt and boxers or sarong (or whatever you're wearing into the lodge)
- towels
- contribution to the meal
- your remaining balance (if this applies to you)
- a happy heart

How do I register?
You register by clicking THIS LINK, which will forward you to the payment portal on www.maartenelout.com. Here you can pay your deposit or full contribution by credit card or your PayPal account (both are handled by PayPal). When you've made your payment you'll receive an email with a download link so you can download the PDF file with the Midsummer Sweat Lodge details, including directions. If you're not able to register in this way, please send me an email through this website and we'll sort something out.

"The bottom line is: if our environment is out of balance, our bodies will increasingly reflect that damage. We can not seperate environmentalism from our personal health."
